General Academic Regulations
* Eligibility for the admissions:-
1) Student who has passed HSC or equivalent examinations with 45% or above
marks is eligible.
2) Graduate with any discipline or equivalent examinations with 45% or above
marks is eligible.
3) The student who doesn’t fall under the categories mentioned above have to
appear for the CET Examination for law conducted by the Mumbai
University.
* Duration:-
We at People’s Education Society’s Law College have introduced 5 years degree course in Law. The 3 years degree course will be introduced in near future.
Admissions in 5 years degree course in law can be taken after passing HSC Board examinations from any discipline.
Passing requirement:-
Minimum 40% marks in each subject, but the grand total should be 50% and above.
* Admission Requirements:-
Application forms for 5 years degree course is enclosed in the prospectus. Forms duly filled in must be submitted to the College office. Admissions are based on merit.
Students are required to take the admission in person by submitting the following certificates with the application form.
1) Passing certificates of qualifying examinations with 2 true copies.
2) Original statement of marks of the qualifying examinations along with
documents indicating the date of birth e.g. School Leaving Certificate & a
true copy of each.
3) 4 recent passport size photographs.
4) The migration certificate and a provisional eligibility certificate from the
Mumbai University if the student is migrating from another University.
5) In case of a student from a college affiliated to the Mumbai University,
transfer certificate (TC) from that college.
6) Foreign students seeking admissions should produce their passport & student’s
visa at the time of admissions. Student on tourist visa will not be admitted to the
college.
7) Married female students should produce true copy of marriage certificate or in
case if change of name they should produce an affidavit.
8) Undertaking to attend a minimum of 75% of the total numbers of lectures held
during each semester as per University Regulations.

Rules
Our College is committed to impart best knowledge & training as well as facilitate various co-curricular activities. For smooth implementation of this objective it is necessary to follow these rules.
1) The Principal should be informed about any change in the information submitted
by the student in the admission form by a letter.
2) If it is subsequently found that any statement of the applicant is incorrect or false,
his/her admission is liable to be cancelled without refund of fees.
3) Students from other Universities will be admitted to this University provided that
the examinations of the other University are considered equivalent.
4) Under the present rules of Mumbai University, no students are allow to keep terms
simultaneously for two courses in the University of Mumbai. However, short period
part-time certificate courses in Languages, Computer Science or any course run by
an institute or a centre for distance learning of a University are accepted provided
the timings of such courses do not conflict with the college timings.
- Library
The College library will remain open from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm on all working days from Monday to Saturday.
1) Text books section stocks recent editions of Text books, Bare Acts, University
Examinations Question Papers etc.
2) Students can borrow text books for home reading from lending section.
The rules & regulations of the library will be provided to the students separately.
3) Ex-students of the college will be permitted to use library reading hall with prior
permission from the Principal on payment of a library fee of Rs. 300/-
RULES OF DISCIPLINE
1) Students must attend lectures, practicals, tutorials, etc. as per the Time Table. They must not abstain themselves from classes, practicals, tutorials, examinations etc. without written permission of the Principal. Students whose attendance, progress in various tests and examinations is not satisfactory and who do not perform the required number of tutorials and / or practicals are likely to lose their terms. Students who do not submit compulsory project work in subject are likely to lose their term. Prolonged absence even on grounds of ill health may also lead to loss of terms. Defaulters will not be sent for University Examinations.
2) Every Student must wear the Identity Card as long as he/she is on the College Campus. It must be produced by the student whenever demanded by a member of the teaching or non-teaching staff of the College. He/She must take proper care to avoid its misuse by other students and outsiders. In case the Identity Card is lost, the matter should be immediately reported to the Principal and an application should be made for a duplicate Identity Card which will be issued on payment of charges.
3) No society or Association shall be formed in the College and no person should be invited in the College campus without the specific permission of the Principal. The Principal has a right to refuse such permission.
4) All meetings, cultural programs, debates, elocutions, moot-court etc. organized on the College Premises must be held in presence of teaching staff members and with the prior permission of the Principal. The subjects of debates/elocutions/ moot-courts must have the prior approval of the Principal.
5) Ragging is strictly condemned and prohibited in this college. The aggrieved students are requested to report the same to the Principal immediately to take speedy action. The guilty shall be dealt with harshly and severe action as demanded by the situation shall be taken against them as per the provisions of law and directions issued by the Courts.
6) Students involved in malpractices at the College/University Examinations will not be admitted to the College.
7) Students shall not do anything inside or outside the College that will interfere with the discipline of the College or tarnish the image of the College or of the other students.
8) Smoking is strictly prohibited on the College Premises.
9) If, for any reason, the continuance of the student in the College is found detrimental to the best interest of the College, the Principal either may ask the student to leave the College without assigning any reasons or refuse to admit the student for the next academic year; and decision will be final and binding on the student.
10) Acts of Misbehavior, Misconduct, Indiscipline or Violation of the Rules of Discipline mentioned above are liable for one or more punishments as stated below:
1. Warning to the student.
2. Warning to the student as well as a letter to the parents.
3. Imposition of a fine.
4. Denial of gymkhana, library, N. S. S., student aid or any other facility for a
specified period or for the whole Term/Year.
5. Cancellation of Terms.
6. Refusal of admission in the next term or academic year.
7. Cancellation of Admission.
8. Expulsion from the College for a specified period.
9. Rustication.
The Rules and Regulations brought into force from time to time by the authorities of the college will be binding upon students.
